Home : States of India : Andhra Pradesh : Guntupalli

This spot, about 85 kms from Vijayawada, is considered to be the most beautiful Buddhist site in Eastern Decan.

In this horseshoe shaped valley, one can see rock-cut chaityas, votive stupas and viharas which predate the Ajanta and Ellora caves.

Dignaga, the great Buddhist Logician, is believed to have lived in this arama.

How to Get There
Rail: Vijayawada is well connected by rail with all the important places within and outside the state.

Road: Tourists can take state buses or hire a taxi from Vijayawada to reach Guntupalli.
